Measured vehicle wrap panels become material area with waste, then combine with labor and fixed costs in a quote.
On this page

A car wrap quote can calculate material from measured panel rectangles or a measured total area, apply your waste percentage once to material, then add your labor and fixed design or preparation costs.

Open the car wrap cost calculator

Enter measured coverage and choose one method

Choose feet or meters for panel dimensions, or use the matching square unit for a supplied area. In panel mode, add measured rectangles and let the calculator sum length × width. In area mode, enter a measured total area directly. Use one mode for each quote. The estimate does not infer dimensions from vehicle make, model, year, or a generic full-wrap size.

Enter your material waste percentage and material rate per square unit, followed by labor-hours, hourly rate, and fixed design or preparation costs. Material area equals measured coverage × (1 + waste percentage ÷ 100). The tool applies waste to material area only; labor and fixed costs remain separate.

Synthetic example: calculate a 566 quote

Measured vehicle wrap panels become material area with waste, then combine with labor and fixed costs in a quote.

The panel dimensions and rates below are made-up inputs for checking the calculation. They do not represent a vehicle specification or market price.

Line Calculation Amount
Side A coverage 10 ft × 4 ft 40 ft²
Side B coverage 10 ft × 4 ft 40 ft²
Total coverage 40 + 40 80 ft²
Material area with 15% waste 80 × 1.15 92 ft²
Material 92 × 3 per ft² 276
Labor 4 hours × 60 per hour 240
Design/prep User-entered fixed amount 50
Total 276 + 240 + 50 566

Use USD for the sample currency label. The itemized CSV and quote PDF preserve the same coverage mode, measurements, material calculation, labor, fixed cost, and total. Waste is applied once to material and does not change labor or fixed costs.

Review the measured estimate before export

Check the dimensions or supplied area, selected units, waste percentage, material rate, labor, and fixed charges. Keep the downloaded quote with your measured scope and shop rates.

If you choose Supabase, enable and test row-level security policies for exposed tables. App users need server-enforced organization, owner, assigned-row, field, and export permissions; workspace builders and app users have different roles. Verify a saved edit after reload and test allowed and denied actions with each role. Atoms Cloud · Connect Supabase · Supabase row-level security

Build a vehicle-wrap quote app for a wrap shop. Create stable-ID tables for quote_versions, panel_lines, material_assumptions, labor_lines, and fixed_cost_lines. Keep a saved quote version tied to its chosen units, measured coverage, waste input, material rate, labor hours/rate, fixed charges, and formula version. Deduplicate imports by stable source ID.

Collect one length unit, ft or m; area uses the corresponding square unit. Let the estimator choose exactly one coverage mode: (A) one or more measured panels with positive length and width, or (B) a directly supplied positive measured total area. Do not combine the modes. Never infer area from vehicle make, model, year, or an assumed full-wrap size. Collect waste percent from 0 to 100, a nonnegative material rate per area unit, nonnegative labor-hours and labor rate, nonnegative fixed design/prep charges, and a three-letter currency label.

Calculate coverage = sum(panel length × panel width) in panel mode, or the supplied measured area in area mode. Calculate material area = coverage × (1 + waste percent / 100). Apply waste only to material area. Calculate material cost = material area × user material rate. Calculate labor = user labor-hours × user hourly rate. Calculate total = material cost + labor + fixed charges. Do not apply waste to labor or fixed charges.

Synthetic acceptance example: Side A 10 ft × 4 ft and Side B 10 ft × 4 ft give 80 ft² coverage. At 15% waste, material area is 92 ft². With a user material rate of 3 USD/ft², material is 276 USD. Four labor-hours × 60 USD/hour gives 240 USD labor; fixed design/prep is 50 USD. Expected total = 276 + 240 + 50 = 566 USD. These values and dimensions are synthetic arithmetic inputs, not vehicle dimensions or a market price.

Export an itemized CSV and quote PDF that match displayed lines. Validate positive finite dimensions or direct area, exactly one coverage mode, waste 0–100%, nonnegative finite rates/hours/fixed costs, and a three-letter currency label. No external API or payment processing is required.

Use two app roles: Estimator can create and edit assigned quotes; Reviewer can inspect and approve a quote version. Enforce organization, owner, assigned-row, field, and export permissions on the server. Workspace builders differ from app users. Choose Atoms Cloud or connected Supabase as the single backend. If Supabase is selected, enable and test row-level security on exposed tables. Persist an edit across reload, then test permitted and denied actions for both roles. Report uncompleted checks.
