GPT-5.6 Terra is OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 model for workloads that need a balance of intelligence and cost. OpenAI describes it as roughly corresponding to the mini tier used in earlier GPT-5 families. It accepts text and image input, produces text output, and supports configurable reasoning effort from none through max.

OpenAI lists GPT-5.6 Terra at $2.50 per million input tokens, $0.25 per million cached input tokens, and $15 per million output tokens. Its documented knowledge cutoff is February 16, 2026. Requests with more than 272K input tokens use higher long-context pricing, so developers should review OpenAI’s current pricing documentation for production workloads.
