A carpet cleaning estimate can add room-by-room area charges, fixed add-ons, and a visible minimum-charge adjustment. Enter your own rates and select one area unit for every room and rate.

Open the carpet cleaning cost calculator

Enter room measurements and your rates

Choose ft2 or m2 once, then enter each room’s name, measured area, and your rate per selected unit. Add fixed charges such as a spot-treatment line, enter the minimum charge, and set a three-letter currency label. The calculator uses the same area unit for every room and rate; it does not convert units or currencies.

The calculation is:

  • Room subtotal = sum of each room’s area × its rate
  • Subtotal = room subtotal + fixed add-ons
  • Minimum adjustment = max(0, minimum charge − subtotal)
  • Total = subtotal + minimum adjustment

The adjustment appears in the calculation details, so you can see when the minimum changed the quote. Rates and fixed charges are inputs you supply; the example below does not represent a market price.

Synthetic example: make the minimum visible

Use 200 ft2 for a living room at 0.30 per ft2 and 100 ft2 for a bedroom at 0.40 per ft2. Add a fixed 15 for spot treatment and set the minimum to 120.

Line Calculation Amount
Living 200 × 0.30 60
Bedroom 100 × 0.40 40
Room subtotal 60 + 40 100
Spot treatment Fixed add-on 15
Subtotal 100 + 15 115
Minimum adjustment 120 − 115 5
Total 115 + 5 120

In the calculator, label the amounts with the currency code you choose, such as USD. The tool exports an itemized CSV and a quote PDF with the same room lines, add-ons, subtotal, adjustment, and total shown on screen.

Application users who enter or review quotes need server-enforced access rules, and saved calculations need reload checks. Build a one-job carpet cleaning quote calculator for a contractor. Inputs: one area unit selected as `ft2` or `m2`; at least one room with a name, positive area, and nonnegative user rate per selected area unit; named nonnegative fixed add-ons; a nonnegative minimum charge; and a three-letter currency label. Do not convert currency or insert regional, industry, tax, or default price values.

Calculate room subtotal = sum(room area × user area rate). Calculate subtotal = room subtotal + fixed add-ons. Calculate minimum adjustment = max(0, minimum charge − subtotal). Calculate total = subtotal + minimum adjustment. Display room lines, add-ons, subtotal, adjustment, and total so the contractor can see why the minimum changes the quote.

Synthetic acceptance example: Living, 200 ft2 at 0.30 currency units per ft2; Bedroom, 100 ft2 at 0.40 per ft2; Spot treatment fixed add-on 15; minimum 120; currency label USD. Expected room base = 100, subtotal = 115, minimum adjustment = 5, total = 120. Show the adjustment separately in the calculation details and both exports.

Export an itemized CSV and a quote PDF that match the inputs and totals shown on screen. Validate positive finite room areas, nonnegative finite rates, add-ons and minimum, one selected area unit, and a three-letter currency code. Reject blank, nonfinite, or negative numeric entries. Do not estimate regional prices, dimensions, sales tax, or industry rates.

Create stable-ID tables for quote_versions, room_lines, addon_lines, and rate_versions. Keep each saved quote tied to the units, user-entered rates, minimum, currency label, and formula version that produced it. Use two app roles: Quote Owner can create and edit assigned quotes; Reviewer can inspect and approve a quote version. Enforce organization, owner, assigned-row, field, and export permissions on the server. Workspace builders differ from app users. Choose Atoms Cloud or connected Supabase as the single backend. If Supabase is selected, enable and test row-level security on exposed tables. Do not add payment processing.

Save a quote edit as Quote Owner, reload the app, sign out, and sign in as Reviewer. Verify that the saved quote and totals persist and that the Reviewer has only the assigned permissions. Test permitted and denied record, field, and export actions for both roles. Report every uncompleted check with its result.

Review the itemized quote

Review measurements, rates, add-ons, and the minimum before sharing the quote. For a job based on total labor and debris-removal costs, use the separate post-construction cleaning calculator.
